MASTERCARD SECURECODE

MASTERCARE SECURECODE ALLOWS YOU TO ENJOY ADDED SECURITY WHILE SHOPPING ON THE WEB.

Greater Internet shopping security couldn’t be easier, thanks to MasterCard SecureCode.  It’s a new service to enhance your existing MasterCard.  A private code means added protection against unauthorized use of your card when you shop online at participating merchants.

You, the cardholder, enroll in the MasterCard SecureCode program by entering secure personal information, which is validated against information provided by Highland Federal to MasterCard servicing.  Once the secure information has been validated, the cardholder chooses a password.  This password is then utilized for all online purchases.  Cardholders have the option of pre-registering, for example, via Highland Federal’s website, or enrolling while making an internet purchase with a MasterCard SecureCode participating merchant.

SecureCode prompts will only appear to you the customer when shopping via the Internet with a merchant who participates in the SecureCode program.  Currently the number of merchants participating is limited.  However, MasterCard is heavily promoting the use of this program with all merchants.
